Reef and wreck fishing off Marathon has been excellent lately, with a great mix of species keeping anglers busy.
Yellowtail snapper, big black grouper, king mackerel, jacks, and more have all been biting around the local reefs and wrecks, making this a prime time to get out on the water in the Middle Florida Keys.
Yellowtail Snapper Bite Is Strong
Yellowtail snapper have been especially productive, with plenty of these great-eating fish coming over the rail.
We have also been catching some nice:

Big Black Grouper Around the Reefs and Wrecks
We have also been seeing some impressive black grouper.
At the time of this fishing report, grouper season remained closed until May 1, so these fish were being caught and released. Even without keeping them, battling a big grouper around reef structure can provide an exciting fight.
King Mackerel, Jacks, and More
King mackerel and several species of jacks have also been mixed into the action.
